Jeanette Marie Charles Johnson

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Jeanette Marie Charles Johnson, 59, who passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014, at Ochsner Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 201 Gary St., St. Martinville, Louisiana 70582, from 7:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Saturday. Fr. Stanley Augustina will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Catherine Charles and Wilfred Johnson. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Jeanette enjoyed playing video poker, cooking, shopping, being with her family, and caring for the elderly. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Johnson of St. Martinville; her daughters, Natisha "Nikki" Johnson and husband, Clarence of Maurice and Jennifer Johnson of St. Martinville; her brothers, Clyde B. Charles and wife, Catherine of St. Martinville and Clegges Charles of St. Martinville; her sisters, Vanessa Grimm and husband, Benjamin of Jeanerette and Elaine C. Wiltz and husband, Franklin of St. Martinville; her grandchildren, Justise Celestine of St. Martinville, Jaiya James of St. Martinville, and Kinsley Johnson of Maurice. She is preceded in death by her parents Emmett and Edna Jean Batiste Charles; and her sister, Germaine Charles. Pallbearers will be Clarence Johnson, Jermaine James, Clegges Charles, Travous Etienne, Kendall Wiltz, and Gerald Wiltz. Honorary pallbearers will be Elaine Wiltz, Vanessa Grimm, Roynavia Batiste, and Justise Celestine. Pellerin Funeral Home, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
