Jerry L Delcambre

New Iberia Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 20, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Jerry L. Paw-Paw Delcambre, 83, who died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Mr. Delcambre was born on August 12, 1930 in New Iberia to Jesse and Lydia LeBlanc Delcambre, and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. A member of the ROTC Program, he attended U.L.L., and served our country in the National Guard. Mr. Delcambre worked 35 years for Hughes Tool Company, now Baker-Hughes, and 10 years for his brother, Vic Delcambre, City Marshall of New Iberia. An avid reader, he enjoyed watching TV, and spending time with his family and friends, especially following his grandchildrens sporting events. He would collect every newspaper article and photograph regarding their activities into a scrapbook. Survivors include his wife of nearly 57 years, Annette Dore Delcambre of New Iberia; children, Keith Delcambre and wife Patti of Broussard, Kathleen Delcambre of New Iberia, Brenda Boyer and husband Dale of New Iberia; brother, Victor Vic Delcambre and wife Pearl of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Danielle Delcambre of Youngsville, Dustin Delcambre of Lafayette, Derek Delcambre of Lafayette, Devin Delcambre of Broussard, Royce Boyer and wife Mia of New Iberia, Ethan Boyer of New Iberia; a great granddaughter, Sophia Delcambre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lydia LeBlanc Delcambre. Pallbearers will be Dustin Delcambre, Derek Delcambre, Devin Delcambre, Royce Boyer, Ethan Boyer, and David Dore. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses at Iberia Medical Center, LA Extended Care, Dauterive Hospital, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette General Hospital, Dr. Rinaldi, Dr. Cousin, Dr. Kaufman, Dr. Roy, Dr. Sigue, and Dr. Hoppe.
