Loreauville – Arrangements are pending for Jerry Paul Gonsoulin, 83, who passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
A native of Catahoula and a resident of Loreauville, Jerry Paul Gonsoulin was born on September 3, 1942, to the late Clet and Delphine Robicheaux Gonsoulin. He dedicated his career to the oilfield and retired as a fitter/welder from Loadmaster Industries. His strong hands shaped not just metal and machinery but also the lives of his family, cultivating a spirit of perseverance and hard work.
A man of many passions, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed riding his lawn mower and playing computer games. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting. He cherished the quiet moments spent sitting outside by the fire, savoring a cold beer as he enjoyed the serenity of nature. His love for cooking brought family and friends together, as he took great pleasure in hosting gatherings, creating delicious meals made with care and affection.
Jerry's greatest treasures were his family. He poured his heart and soul into his role as a father to his children, instilling in them the values he held dear. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life, inspiring pride and a sense of purpose that brightened his every day. Each shared moment will forever be cherished.

Jerry leaves behind a world more colorful than he found it. He will remain in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
