Jimmie Orphry, Jr.

New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Jimmie Orphry, Jr., 67, who passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2022.

Entombment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be Saturday from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at Pellerin Funeral Home.

A resident of New Iberia, Jimmie was born October 24, 1955, to the late Jimmie Orphry, Sr. and Ruth Fontenette, and attended West Orange High School in Orange, Texas. He worked for several years at the Morton Salt Mine and then Bayou Pipe, from where he retired. A huge Dallas Cowboys fan, Jimmie was also loved watching the L.A. Lakers and wrestling. He also enjoyed traveling, swimming, and going to the Spanish Lake Casino.

He is survived by wife, Edith Antoine Orphry; daughters, Aquarius Daniels (Robert) and Areail Orphry; sons, Trecoma Orphry and Atari Orphry (Stacy); sisters, Cassandra Daniels (Stacy) and Shelia Daniels (Victor); brother, John Orphry (Jennifer); 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by father, Jimmie Orphry, Sr.; mother, Ruth Fontenette Daniels; stepfather, O'Niel Daniels; brother, Joseph Orphry; nephews, Shaquille Daniels and Shabraien D. Bernard; great-grandson, King Lewis.
