Joan Ann Guidry, a devoted round-the-clock nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others in their time of need, has peacefully passed away at her residence. She was born in Breaux Bridge and brought joy to the lives she touched with her infectious smile and compassionate care.

During her career, Joan was known for her commitment to her patients, and she especially loved working with children. Her stern yet positive values shone through in all aspects of her work, leaving a lasting impact on those under her care. Her education as a nurse and phlebotomist equipped her with the skills needed to excel in her field, and she approached her work with kindness, generosity, and an unparalleled warmth that lit up every room she entered. Joan also worked in the federal program, Follow Through, with the St. Martin Parish Schools. Never one to be idle, she was an entrepreneur, as well, and owned a commercial cleaning company and a convenience store.

Beyond her professional life, Joan found joy in a variety of hobbies and interests. From cooking and baking to tending to her yard and beloved animals, she found peace in simple pleasures. Her love for travel, laughter, and spending time with family and friends further enriched her life.

In addition to her successful career and vibrant interests, Joan was a proud lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, demonstrating her loyalty to serving others both in and out of the workplace.

She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte (Chris) Guidry Burdin and Betty (James Voorhies) Guidry; brother, Ronald (Cheryl) Broussard; sisters, Brenda Benoit and Theresa (Blake) Champagne; and her granddaughter, Lylah Burdin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Thelma LeBlanc Broussard; sister, Charlotte Broussard; and her brother, Wayne Broussard.

Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
