St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Jody Joseph Anthony, Sr., 57, who passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 201 Gary St., St. Martinville from 7:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Augustinus Seran will officiate at the Funeral Service. Reading the scriptures will be Dimitricia Batiste and Dianne Darby. His sisters, Wanda, Josephine, Patricia and Janella will serve as gift bearers. Music will be provided by the men and womens church choir.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Saint Martinville.
Jody enjoyed riding motorcycles and car racing. He loved to dance and also sang in the church choir.
He is survived by his wife, Leeanna Bonhomme Anthony, mother, Mary Filer Anthony, sons, Jody J. Anthony, Jr. and his wife, Stacey, Jordy Anthony and his wife, Julie, Deontae Bonhomme, Donervon Bonhomme and Demetrius Potter, daughter, Deandra Bonhomme, brothers, Travis Anthony and his wife, Margaret, Roland Anthony and his wife, Myra, and Tilden Anthony, sisters, Wanda K. Anthony, Josephine Mallery, and her husband, Calvin, Patricia Anthony and Janella Bourda, and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, as well as a host of close relatives.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Anthony, paternal grandparents, Josephine and Willie Anthony, maternal grandparents, Adam and Mary Filer, daughter, Rochelle Anthony, numerous aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Sgt. Jordy Anthony, Sgt. Donervon Bonhomme, Kevin Mallery, Roland Anthony, Eddie Chretien and Gilbert St. Julien.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jody J. Anthony, Jr., Deontae Bonhomme, Demetrius Potter, Travis Anthony and Tilden Anthony.
