Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, honoring the life of John Alex, 91, who passed away on January 22, 2026, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Rev. Greg Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Katelyn Aubrey and Diane Frederick. Gift bearers will be Luke Aubrey, III, and Katelyn Aubrey.

Burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Alex (Luke Aubrey, Jr.), Paul Declouet, John Steven Alex (Angela), Pierre "Shon" Alex (Yvonne), Mandy Celestine (Lawrence), and Sarah Goodie; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Alex; parents, Arthur and Octavia Derouselle Alex; brothers, Harry Alex, Anthony Alex, and Harold Alex; sisters, Beula Cormier, Eva Enard, Hilda Broussard, Evelyn Goodie, and Paula Chevalier; and his grandchildren, Patrice Celestine, Katrice Celestine, and Quinton Goodie.

Pallbearers will be Luke Aubrey, III, Melvin Goodie, Jr., Claude "Ed" Lewis, Darnell Chevalier, Benjamin Alex, and Samuel Broussard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Declouet, John "Steven" Alex, Pierre "Shon" Alex, Luke Aubrey, Jr., Lawrence Celestine, Quinton Mitchell, James "Jim" Chevalier, and Dennis Potier.
