John 'Big' "Big" Borel

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for John Big Joseph Borel, 72, who passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 am until 10:15 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. Fr. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. John enjoyed working in the yard, dancing, going to the Casino, and visiting with friends at Poches. He loved going to places where there was entertainment. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Borel of Arnaudville; his brother, Abel Borel and wife JoAnna of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Eula Mae Calais of Houston, TX, Emily Robicheaux of Arnaudville, and Mary Ezola Williams of Cecilia. He was preceded in death by his sons, Johnny and Donald Borel; his parents, George Borel, Sr. and Enola Calais Borel; his brother, George Borel, Jr.; and his sisters, Mary Louise Williams and Nola Mae Durall.
