Breaux Bridge - John Harry Guidry, Sr., a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville at the age of 84. Born on November 22, 1938, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, John was a remarkable individual who left an enduring impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

John was a man of great character whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He possessed a heart of gold and dedicated his life to helping others. Whether it was lending a helping hand to those in need. . He had an unwavering belief in the power of human connection and made it his mission to make the world a better place one person at a time.

A proud member of the National Guard, John served his country honorably. His dedication and commitment to protecting and defending others carried over into every aspect of his life and was a volunteer fireman with the Breaux Bridge Fire Department for ten years. He epitomized the values of loyalty, integrity, and courage that are cherished by all who serve in the military.

Outside of his military service, John found joy in pursuing his passions and interests. An avid fisherman, he spent countless hours casting lines into tranquil waters and relishing the peace that nature provided. Cooking was another one of his talents; he delighted family and friends with mouthwatering meals that showcased his culinary prowess. Known for his warm hospitality, John enjoyed entertaining loved ones with laughter-filled gatherings that created lifelong memories.

John's love for his family was immeasurable. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in being present for each milestone achieved by his children and grandchildren. His legacy will live on through the lessons he imparted on family values, unconditional love, and the importance of cherishing the bonds that tie us together.

John Harry Guidry, Sr., will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy that serves as an inspiration to us all. Though he is no longer physically present with us, his spirit will continue to reside in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to have known him.

He is survived by his son, John H. Guidry, Jr.; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Guidry, Nikki (Trent) Nugier, Alma Melancon, (Dustin} Dottie (Eric) Curole, John Guidry III, Maggie G. Brantley; great-grandchildren, Harper Guidry, Hailey Guidry, Dustin Melancon, Gage Melancon, Marlee Nugier, Aubree Nugier, Chloe Melancon, Evan Curole, Luke Curole and Vivian Curole; nephew, Kenneth Dauphine'; and his nieces, Mona Dauphine' Savoie and Lisa Dauphine' Savant.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Philozie and Ades Bertrand Guidry; wife, Beatrice Landry Guidry; sons, Jerome and Phillip Guidry; grandson, Giles Guidry; and his sister, Mary Dauphine'.
