New Iberia - Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2011 at First Baptist Church in New Iberia for John Simeon Lewis, Sr., 74 who died Sunday, March 20, 2011 in New Iberia . Rev. Ed Downs will officiate. Born on January 10, 1937 , Mr. Lewis was the son of James and Laura Hill Lewis. He retired from Texaco with 35 years of service. Survivors include his wife Mary Monene Brundidge Lewis of New Iberia ; sons, John Simeon Lewis, Jr. and wife Robyn of Lafayette, Randall K. Lewis and wife Shelly of New Iberia, William Wayne Lewis of New Iberia ; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Legnon and husband Scott of Lydia, Deborah K. Lewis of Lafayette, Kathryn A. Broussard and husband Rex of Lafayette; grandchildren, Derrick Lewis, Jenny Lewis, Amber Legnon Comeaux, Arianna Lewis, William Wayne Lewis, II, Austin Broussard, Savannah Lewis, Katlyn Legnon, Morgan Broussard, and Alexis Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Joseph Lewis; grandson, Taylor Joseph Lewis; granddaughter, Megan Brooke Lewis; brothers, James H. Lewis, Louie Lewis; sisters, Ursula Hartlep, and Elizabeth Tindd. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd in New Iberia .
