Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Joseph "Moonie" Bergeron.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 8:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.

Brother Jimmy will officiate the Funeral Service.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph "Moonie" Bergeron, who departed this life at the age of 59. Born on July 28, 1965, Joseph was a man who touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a loving father, devoted brother, and a proud grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength and an unforgettable sense of humor.

Joseph transitioned peacefully in his home on May 19, 2025, in his sleep.

Joseph spent many years working at Guidry's Fresh Cut, where he was known for his hard work, dedication, and friendly demeanor. He also had a long and distinguished career driving 18-wheelers across the country. His time on the road allowed him to see much of the United States, but his heart was always at home with his family, whom he cherished deeply.

As a father, Joseph was unwavering in his love and commitment to his children. As a brother, he was a source of support and joy, and as a grandfather, he was the heart and soul of the family - sharing wisdom, laughter and endless love. His legacy of family and friendship will live on through the memories he leaves behind.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph "Joe Pete" Jones, Isiah "Zay" Jones (Hannah) and Jacob Celestine; daughters, Hilda "Rika" Jones (Romeyus), Shanice "Neci" Jones, Twolla Babineaux (Dennis), Deandra Collins and Brooklyn Fruge; brothers, Terry Bergeron (Leatha), Darrell Daigle (Suzie), Willie Bergeron (Louisa), Stephen Castelleo, Jermaine Bergeron (Tamaria), Marlon Thomas and Robert "Junior" Thomas; sisters, Delann Williams (Robert), Shamelda Pete and Christina Bergeron (Harold); grandchildren, Jakrick Derouselle, Javian Jones, Trinity Nolden, Brayden Joes, Rayauren Broussard, Ja'Kara Belizaire, Damarcus Babineaux, Ken'Dralynn Babineaux and Da'Kalynn Babineaux; and great-grandchildren, Ayven Washington and Aryan Derouselle.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Tina Bergeron; son, Perry Jones; and parents, John Bergeron and Joyce Daigle Bergeron.
