New Iberia ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Joseph "Benny" Fontane, 60, who passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. ; Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. ; Born on August 11, 1948, ;Benny is a graduate of U.S.L. and was formerly a sales manager for KANE Radio, and an Allstate Insurance Agent. He has been a member of the Kiwanis Club since 1978, and is a past Division Chairman of the Iberia Parish United Way. Benny loved listening to music and watching movies. ; Survivors include his mother, Olga Knight of Baton Rouge; daughters, Natalie Fontane of Las Vegas, NV, Christina Fontane of New Iberia; sister, Kathy Zerangue of Dallas, TX. ; He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Fontane, Sr. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
