Joseph Chesley Lewis

Breaux Bridge - Private Services will be held for the immediate family of Joseph Chesley Lewis, 82, who passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Mr. Lewis was a dedicated employee at Martin Chevrolet for 20 years, and then followed by working at the Sugar Mill. He loved his family get-togethers and watching cowboy shows. Mr. Lewis also enjoyed spending his time fishing, dancing and going to the casino. He was a big joker, who loved to make others smile. His most memorable times were with his kids and grandkids. Mr. Lewis was loved beyond measure and will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons, Leo Lewis, Chesley Lewis and James Lewis and wife Henrietta; daughters, Lisa Lewis and husband Lonnie, Roxanne Lewis and husband Clint and Tina Lewis; brothers, Francis Lewis and wife Hilda Narcisse, Warren Provost, Paul Provost and Zervin Provost; sisters, Delores Collins, Mary Mazel Lewis and Linda Ann Provost; grandchildren, Lonnie Lewis, Clayton Lewis, Marilyn Lewis, Simon Lewis, Chestley Lewis, Dianna Lewis, Antonio Lewis, Desley Jones, Holden Lewis, Chestina Lewis, Bree Jolivette, Heavenly Jolivette, JaJeylon Lewis, Jasmin Lewis, James Lewis, Jr. and Iz'rael Lambert; and great-grandchildren, Tu'Shay Mouton, Jaylon Lan, Chestly Clay, Javien Lan, Sh'Keylyn Mouton, Landon Mouton, Ger'Miya White, Hailey Mouton, Caiden Mouton, Madison Mouton, Katielyn Mouton, Tinisha Carron, Simon Lewis, Jr., Klyee Ben, Karleigh Charles, Adrian Charles, Mackenzie Lewis, Sadera Lewis, Saige Joseph and A'Nala Lewis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Lewis; mother, Mable Martin; father, Morris Joseph Lewis; brothers, David Provost and Horace Lewis; sister, Eula Mae Lewis and Mable Ann Provost. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Lewis, Holden Lewis, JaJeylon Lewis, Chestly Clay, Antonio Jones and Joshua Barra. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
