Lydia ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Joseph Olivier, 83, who died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Grand Marias. ; Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, in Patoutville ; Rev. Donovan Labbe will be the Celebrant. ; Born on July 12, 1926, Mr. Olivier worked as a farmer, derrick hand, and as a warehouseman, having lived in California for 50 years. He played several different musical instruments and enjoyed country & western music. ; Survivors include his son, Floyd Olivier of Modesto, CA; daughters, Carolyn Varrone and husband Dan of Grand Marias, Colleen Olivier Smith of Salida, CA; sisters, Aline O. Delahoussaye of Grand Marias, Ethel Mary O. Collins and husband Joseph of Grand Marias; companion, Irene Abatte of Grand Marias; grandchildren, Andrea Olivier, Alicia Olivier, Kimberly Lenhart, Eric Lenhart, Lyle Lenhart, Rebecca Smith, Haley Smith; great grandchildren, Chantal Olivier, Guinevere Lenhart, Jasmine Lenhart, and Riley Lenhart. ; He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora A. Olivier; parents, Joseph R. and Elvania Louviere Olivier; daughter, Cora Lee Olivier; brother, Wilbert Olivier, Paul Alfred Olivier; sisters, Almenia Olivier, and Nora Delahoussaye. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia.
