Parks- A memorial mass will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2026 at St. Louis Chapel in Parks for Raymond Potier who passed away in Houston on April 5, 2026.
Rev. Davis M. Rozas will officiate the mass.
Joseph Raymond Potier, a beloved member of the Parks community, was born on November 11, 1940, in Lafayette, to the late Leslie Solarie Potier and Forrest Potier.
Raymond received his education at Charles Elementary School and Carver High School, both in his hometown. He was known for his skills as a cement finisher, having worked alongside Zerbin Hypolite. His early years also saw him working in the sugar cane fields and picking cotton in his grandfather's field. Raymond was a man of many talents, with a strong work ethic that earned him the respect of his peers.
Raymond had a special love for football, with the New Orleans Saints being his favorite team. He shared countless joyful moments watching games and celebrating victories. Throughout his life, he cherished the bond he had with his best friend, "Joe Joe" Hypolite, who stood by him through thick and thin.
Raymond is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frederick Potier, Melvin Wiltz, and Joe Joe Hypolite.
