Joseph Prescia

New Iberia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia for Joseph Prescia, 73, who died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, in New Orleans. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Msgr Richard Greene will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Mr. Prescia was born on December 11, 1939 in Independence, and was the son of Isidore and Rosalie Trombatore Prescia. He was self-employed working in sales most of his life, and his hobbies included working on cars and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Laura George Prescia of New Iberia; children, Joseph Brian Prescia of New Iberia, Lisa Prescia DiMarco and husband Salvador Buddy DiMarco of New Iberia; grandchildren, Brenden OBrien of Anacoca, Casey OBrien of New Iberia; brother, Isidore Presica and wife Eileen of LaPlace; and a nephew, Dominic Prescia of LaPlace. In addition to his parents, Mr. Prescia was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Prescia OBrien. Pallbearers will be Buddy DiMarco, Ken Duplichan, Mark Pomier, David Bertrand, John Robin Leonard, and Donald Solar. Honorary Pallbearers include Joseph Brian Prescia, Brenden O'Brien, Dominic Prescia, and Robert George.
