Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, October 1, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Joseph Thibodeaux, 90, who passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday.

A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Friday.

Fr. George-Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.

Joseph was born December 13, 1930, in Breaux Bridge. He retired after many years with the railroad. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, and cheering on his two favorite football teams, New Orleans Saints and Pittsburg Steelers, watching Westerns and the daily news. Joseph cherished spending time with his family and friends. He loved to gather and cook for them. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his sons, Wilbert Thibodeaux (Wendy) and Joseph Anthony Thibodeaux (Pamela); daughters, Linda Gordon (Iron), Della Angelle and Norma Calais (John) all of Breaux Bridge, LA; 25 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; companion, Mary Noel; and a host of nieces, nephews and family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Mae Celestine Thibodeaux; parents, John Thibodeaux, Sr. and Jeanne Fontenette Thibodeaux; sons, Jessie Thibodeaux and Whitney Thibodeaux; daughter, Georgina Williams; granddaughter, Danielle Elizabeth Thibodeaux; grandson, Paul Frederick Williams; brothers, John Thibodeaux, Jr. and Percy Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Mike Semere, Jeremy Calais, Wesley Frank, Shaun Angelle, Donald Ray Noel and Jessie Thibodeaux, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Peters, Terrell Noel and Mark Williams.

Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
