St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Joseph "J.C." Thomas, 72, who passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Iberia Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday.
Scriptures will be read by Abreanna Alexander, Victoria Thomas, and Daphne Babin. Gift Bearers will be Peter Jones, Jr., Laterrance Zeno, and Joseph Scott Thomas, Jr. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
J.C. worked for Martin Mills for 29 years. He was a family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandsons dearly. He liked working on cars, taking care of his yard, and cooking on the weekends for his family and friends. J.C. always gave his children and grandchildren sound advice - he was full of wisdom to share. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Pierre Thomas; his sons, Karnell Joseph Thomas, Sr. and Joseph Scott Thomas, Sr.; his daughters, Tracey Angelique Thomas, Karlet Marie Thomas, and Michaela Louella Thomas; his grandchildren, Peter Jones, Jr., Kwanita T. Narcisse, Natasha Curley, Landon Wiltz, Leah Jones, Laterrance Zeno, Victoria Thomas, Abreanna Alexander, Deandrea Zeno, Terrillisa Thomas, Joseph Scott Thomas, Jr., Karnell Joseph Thomas, Jr., Angelo Thomas, Kristian Paige Thomas, Keon Bryant, Kyana Bryant, Karliegh Mackles, and Kylie Mackles; his great grandsons, Xavien J.B. Thomas and Carter Zeno; his brother, Morris Thomas; and his sisters, Cecile Sam, Ola Mae Bruno, and Carolyn Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Thomas, Sr. and Lucille LeBlanc Thomas; his son, Terrill Thomas; a grandson, Jeremy Thomas; his brothers, Calvin and Jerome Thomas; and his sister, Lucille Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Shea Lee, Emanuel Narcisse, John Thomas, Jr., David Youman, Sr., Allen Alexander, Jr., Harold Bruno, Jr., Johnell Thomas, and Gregory Sam.
