Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm, on Friday, September 20, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Joyce Gertrude Mason Angelle, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 am until 9 pm on Thursday, and continue at 8 am until 12:45 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Thursday. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearers will be Shelby and Jacob Stevens. Musical selections will be provided by Denise Angelle and Patrick Melancon. Joyce was a wonderful cook who enjoyed cooking for her family and caring for her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She is survived by her son, Burke "B.J." Angelle and his wife, Denise, of Cecilia; her brother-in-law, Jesse Angelle and his wife, Georgia of Cecilia; two sisters-in-law, Betty T. Mason of Catahoula and Alice Degeyter of Breaux Bridge; two grandchildren, Leigha Angelle and Noah Angelle; and four great grandchildren, Shelby Stevens, Jacob Stevens, Marilou Angelle and Silas Angelle. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rogers Angelle; her parents, Henry and Divine LeBlanc Mason; three brothers, Nicolas, Ernest, and Burke Mason; and her sister, Delores Mason Borel. Pallbearers will be family members and good friends. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses of Amedisys Hospice Care, and a very special thank you to her dear friend, Elaine Coles, for the care and attention given to her in her time of need.
