New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, June 3, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Joyce Marie Sonnier Comeaux, 74, who died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jude Halphen will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A longtime resident of New Iberia, Ms. Comeaux was born on June 12, 1938 to Ovey and Anna Robin Sonnier. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Larry James Comeaux, Jr., of New Iberia, Gary John Comeaux of New Iberia, Patrick Comeaux and fianc Lisa Sargent of New Iberia; her fianc, Ivan Menard of New Iberia; brothers, Jerry Sonnier and wife Carolyn of Sulphur, Robert Lee Sonnier; sisters, Jeanette Richard of Sulphur, Annie Lou Bonsall of Maplewood, Edith Faye Miller of Sulphur; former daughters-in-law, Voncille 'Peppe' Fryou of New Iberia, Maria Bond of Lake Charles, Julie Ann Stein of New Iberia, Nicole Comeaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Harley Comeaux, Garrett Comeaux, Blake Nicholas Comeaux, Michael Breaux; great grandchildren, Gracie and Hayden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry James Comeaux, Sr.; brothers, Adles, Clifford, Danny James, Franklin, and Harry Lee Sonnier; sisters, Mary Lou Breaux, and an infant sister Jamie. Pallbearers include ;Larry Comeaux, Gary Comeaux, Patrick Comeaux, Blake Comeaux, Garrett Comeaux, and Harley Comeaux.
