Arnaudville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Joyce Bergeron Lalonde, 82, who passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012.
Fr. Keenan Brown will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Joschlyn Simon and gift bearers will be Raven Jimenez, Margo Talbot, and Chancie Bergeron. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved reading and playing card games, as well as working in her yard - she loved her flowers. Joyce most especially adored and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughters, Diana Richard (Leland), Delores Neal, Ida Lalonde, Cathy Talbot (Randy), Janice Thibodeaux, and Yvonne Davis (Vaughn, Sr.); two brothers, Douglas Bergeron, Sr. and Ronald Bergeron (Hazel); three sisters, Ethel Robin, Elsie Jane Taylor (Reo), and Rose Bergeron; eleven grandchildren, Daryl Hardy, Jr., Eric Neal, Joschlyn Huval Simon, Shane Neal, Chancie Bergeron, Tyson Thibodeaux, Krystal Jimenez, Ashley Davis, Raven Jimenez, Margo Hebert, and Vaughn Davis, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Shyla, Matthew, Bronson, Jake, Kinley, Ainsley, Karoline, Gracie, baby Hebert, and baby Thibodeaux.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Lalonde; a grandson, Allen Richard; her parents, Marie G. and Aldus Bergeron, Sr.; her brother, Aldus Bergeron, Jr.; her sister, Lydia LeBlanc; and her infant twin sister, Joyce Bergeron.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 12 noon.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday by Deacon Harris Bergeron.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Bergeron, Vaughn Davis, Jr., Ronald Bergeron, Eric Neal, Tyson Thibodeaux, Daryl Hardy, Jr., and Shane Neal.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of St. Agnes Nursing Home and Hospice of Acadiana, for the compassionate care given to her during her time of need.
