Juan Ruiz-Gonzalez

New Iberia – A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Juan Ruiz-Gonzalez, 68, who passed away peacefully at his home, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery, in Jeanerette.

Rev. Randy Courville will officiate.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.

A resident of New Iberia, Mr. Ruiz-Gonzalez was born on October 24, 1954, in Nicaragua. He was a dedicated and hardworking man, who spent over 30 years of his life at M.A. Patout Sugar Mill, working as a mechanic. His passion and commitment to excellence earned him the respect and admiration of those he worked with.

In his free time, Juan enjoyed staying busy by repairing things around the house and taking care of the yard. He found solace in being outdoors, whether it was going for walks or spending time surrounded by nature's beauty. Juan also loved reading, particularly keeping up with the current events of his beloved home country, Nicaragua.

While we mourn his loss, let us also take this opportunity to remember the countless memories we shared with Juan. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched with his kindness, work ethic, and unwavering love for family.

Survivors include his wife, Santos Ruiz; children, Denia Gonzalez Delahoussaye (Jordan) and Javier Gonzalez; grandchildren, Kayla Derouen, Madilyn Derouen, Carmen May, Sophia Viator, Kate Delahoussaye, and Penelope Delahoussaye; son-in-law, Davey May, Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Lydia May.
