Juanita Labit Tyler

New Iberia  - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Juanita Labit Tyler, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Iberia Medical Center.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Friday from  4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. 

A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Friday.

Juanita Labit Tyler was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on February 7, 1944 to the late Percy Paul Labit and Eula Marie Duplantis Labit. She worked at One Hour Martinizing for over 30 years. The matriarch of the family, Juanita was a strong-willed woman who raised her children by herself after her husband, Lynn died. Her world centered around her family, and she always stressed the importance of keeping family together. She raised her children with old school values, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her absence will leave a void, but her children take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace and at home with Dad and the rest of her family.

Mrs. Labit is survived by a daughter, Lisa Tyler Simon (husband, Travis Scott Simon); two sons, Troy Tyler, Sr. (wife, Debbie Tyler), and Greig Tyler; sisters, Leona Rachel and Genevieve Pierce; brothers Gerald Labit, Michael Labit (Renee Labit), and Jeffery Labit; grandchildren, Troy Tyler, Jr., Ashley Hebert (C.J. Hebert), Trisha Tyler, Cassie Tyler, Camden Tyler, and Zoie Tyler; great-grandchildren, Michael "Mikey" Lanclos, Jr., Hunter Hebert, Trinidy Wiltz, Markus Wiltz, Jr., Kailyn and Kohen Tyler, Laikyn Doucet, and Harper and Kamille Tyler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Anthony Tyler; brothers, Cleve Labit, Roy Labit, Wilton Labit, Edward Labit, and Samuel Labit; and a daughter-in-law that was like her daughter, Antoinette "Sheryl" Tyler.

Pallbearers will be  Troy Tyler, Sr., Greig Tyler, Troy Tyler, Jr., Camden Tyler, Kailyn Tyler, Scott Simon, and Jeffery Labit.

Honorary pallbearers are Mikey Lanclos and Michael Labit.
