Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Judy LaFleur Gautreaux, 72, who passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at her son's residence.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM on Thursday by Cheryl Guidry.

Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the funeral service.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A devoted Certified Nursing Assistant, Judy dedicated her life to caring for others, embodying the spirit of compassion and kindness throughout her career in the medical field.

Judy was known for her vibrant personality and her ability to forge friendships wherever she went. Her love for playing cards, visiting the casino, and watching Hallmark Mysteries underscored her joyful and spirited approach to life. Above all, Judy cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, passionately supporting her children and grandchildren in their numerous activities. She was a familiar face at Cecilia sporting events, celebrating their achievements with pride and enthusiasm.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Judy will forever be remembered as a friend to all and a loving matriarch who made every moment count with her family. Her spirit will live on in the stories, memories, and laughter she shared with her loved ones.

Judy's bright spirit and colorful personality brought joy to everyone around her. To honor the life and happiness she shared so freely, the family invites those attending her services to wear colorful clothing in celebration of her memory.

She is survived by her son, Adam (Mindy) LaFleur; daughter, Cassandra (Guy) Boudreaux; brothers, Alvin Meche and Ancy (Belinda) Meche; and her grandchildren, Lana (Luke) LaFleur, Kallie (Jesus) LaFleur, Ella (Johnathan) LaFleur, Leah Boudreaux, Jace LaFleur, and Brooklyn LaFleur.

She is preceded in death by her fathers, Edmund Meche, Jr. and Joseph Melancon; mother, Mary Sonnier Melancon; brothers, Lesley Meche and Norwood Meche; sister, Marie Abshire; her first husband, Dwight LaFleur; and her second husband, Dave Gautreaux.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Meche, Shannon Benoit, Mark Abshire, Jace LaFleur, Johnathan Guilbeau and Jesus Leon.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, La 70503, for the compassionate care that was given to Judy during her time of need.
