Judy Desormeaux Laine

New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Judy Desormeaux Laine, 73, who passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in  New Iberia.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

Private entombment will be at a later date. 

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm on Sunday.

A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am on Sunday.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Judy Ann Desormeaux Laine was born on October 19, 1948 to the late Emile and Lucy Meaux Desormeaux. She was a retired teacher with the Iberia Parish School Board. She loved watching old western movies, and enjoyed having pictures of everyone. She absolutely adored her grandbabies and great grandbabies. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Laine is survived by her loving husband, Paul Laine, Jr. of New Iberia; a daughter, Joy Richard (Lane) of Carencro; two sons, Danny Fields, Jr. (Lennie) of New Iberia, and William Fields of New Iberia; six siblings, Marion Desormeaux (Faye) of Broussard, Emile Desormeaux, Jr. (Linda) of Broussard, Mason Desormeaux, Sr. (Ruby) of New Iberia, Eddie Desormeaux (Noel) of New Iberia, Lula Mae Perez of New Iberia, and Dianna Theriot (Kevin, Sr.) of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Taylor Grow (Brian), Ashlyn Hebert (Tommy), Erica Fields, Addison Fields, Lucy Richard, Liam Richard; five great grandchildren, Benit Grow, Royce Grow, Reid Hebert, III, Waylon Hebert, and Reba Hebert; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an angel baby; and two siblings, David Desormeaux and Mildred Delcambre. 

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. George Cousin, Hospice of Acadiana, and New Iberia Manor North for extraordinary care.
