Julius “Rick” Patrick Lee was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on November 30, 1946, to the late Julius "Rut" C. and Mildred Arsement Lee, and was a 1964 graduate of Iowa High School. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, where he earned a Purple Heart. He was passionate about his role as President of the 35th Combat Engineer. For the past 25 years, he spearheaded a reunion for all of his Vietnam Army buddies, where they would bring their spouses and meet in different states every year and reminisce. These gatherings meant everything to him.
Rick’s commitment to hard work was evident throughout his impressive career in the oilfield industry. For over 40 years, he applied his strength and skill to this demanding field, ultimately retiring from B.J. Services. His work ethic set a powerful example and was only surpassed by the warmth and care he showed to his loved ones.
Rick was a man of many passions. His storytelling was a beloved pastime, captivating audiences with tales that reflected his rich life experiences.
Above all, Rick’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, brother, and friend—he was the embodiment of a true family man. His love for his family was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandbabies and great-grandbabies. They were the light of his life, and his devotion to them spoke volumes about the kind of man he was.
Mr. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn Breaux Lee; daughters, Tamara LaBowe (Tim), Angela Falgout, and Alisa Broussard (Oran); sisters, Connie Followay (Jack) and Denise Savant (Kenny); grandchildren (who thought of him as their hero), Ashlee Monte (Brandon), Christopher Aitken, Dylan LeBlanc (Kilie), Austin LeBlanc, Ridge Broussard (Kadlyn), Hunter Broussard (Taylor), Delaney Broussard (Evan Morice), and McKenzi Neuville (Kaleb); and great grandchildren, Madison Hargrave, Brooklyn Regan, Joseph Monte, Eli Aitken, Axon LeBlanc, Kilan LeBlanc, Kapri Neuville, Jolee Neuville, Nora Broussard and Kai Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Oran Broussard, Hunter Broussard, Ridge Broussard, Dylan LeBlanc, Austin LeBlanc, Chris Aitken, and Eric Trahan.
Honorary pallbearers are Tim LaBowe, Eli Aitken, Axon LeBlanc, and C.J. Landry.
Rick leaves behind a world more colorful than he found it. He will remain in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
