Kaiser John Dupuis

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Kaiser John Dupuis, 97, who passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014 and continue on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Henderson. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Readers will be Dana Stelly and Kaysha Duplechain. Gift Bearers will be Shea Stelly and Peyton Duplechain. Music will be provided by Pope Huval. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Kaiser was an Alderman/Mayor Pro-tem over 20 years and was recognize as a founder of the Town of Henderson. He was a Commercial Fisherman in the Atchafalaya basin for over 68 years. He was named Whos Who in Louisiana. A portrait of Kaiser hangs in the Louisiana Tourist Center located at the Butte La Rose exit. Kaiser honorably served our Country as a Veteran of World War II, serving in Japan. Survivors include his son, Wilton Wiltz of Henderson; his daughters, Geri D. Farley of Broussard and Delores (David) Dupuis of Henderson; his sisters, Mildred Roberts of Grand Anse, Adelle Guilbeau of Henderson, Hilda Altemas of Henderson and Buleah (Jack) Doucet of Butte La Rose; his special granddaughter, Sharon Schexnider and her husband, Ricky of Henderson; 22 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claire T. Dupuis; his second wife, Germaine W. Dupuis; his daughters, Betty D. Guidroz and her husband, Sylvian, Mary Melancon; his Son-in-law, Johnny Farley; his brother, Cleveland Dupuis and his sister, Hazel Berard. Pallbearers will be Ricky Schexnider, Eddie Guidroz, Richard Huval, Elliott Wyatt, Michael Doucet and David Dupuis, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be David Dupuis and Shea Stelly.
