A devoted family man and dedicated lineman, Kerry proudly served the electricity industry for 39 years before retiring from Slemco. His infectious personality, signature yell, and enthusiastic thumbs up made him a cherished presence and life of the party at every gathering. Kerry enjoyed life to the fullest, with passions for golf and hunting. He often referred to Toledo Bend as his "Happy Place" and found joy in riding his golf cart and visiting with friends and family. A talented cook, he won the cracklin cook-off several times, sharing his culinary talents with those he loved, while always listening to KBON. In his free time he enjoyed traveling across the United States and Canada. Kerry proudly served 8 years in the Louisiana National Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lizabeth Roy Viator; children, Dustin Viator (Christie) and Kerri Zeringue (Cory); grandchildren, Kelsey Zeringue, Reece Poirier and Lyndi Viator; brothers, Karl Viator (Debbie) and Randy Viator (Sandy); sister-in-law Morele (Blake) Dupuis; brother-in-law Eric (Elaine) Roy; and his two dogs Sadie and Lil Bit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Jeanette Dore Viator; sister, Joan Smith; and his in-laws Morral and Flo Roy.
Pallbearer will be Dustin Viator.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the wonderful and compassionate medical staff at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital and Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home for taking outstanding care of Kerry.
