Loreauville ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Friday, February 27, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville, for Kevin James Mayea, 38, who passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Interment will follow in the church cemetery. ; Rev. John G. "Buddy" Breaux will be the Celebrant. Skyla Stansbury and Christina LeMaire will proclaim the readings. Gift Bearers include Victoria Morgan, Starla Stansbury, and Brianna Hebert. ; Born on March 29, 1970, in New Iberia, Kevin worked for Sammy Broussard Trucking. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family and friends. ; Survivors include his son, Alex Bodin of New Iberia; brother, Aldren Mayea and wife Kay of New Iberia; sisters, Lisa LeMaire and husband Jude, Judith "JuJu" Stansbury, Tamela Gaffney and husband Raymond all of New Iberia; special friend, Kenny Joe Hebert of Alabama; nieces and nephews, Christina, Thomas, Jordan, Victoria, Jansen, Julie, Kacie, Skyla, Starla, and Trinitey. ; He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Allen and Verline Verret Mayea. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday.
