Kimmie James Hardy

Arnaudville -Kimmie J. Hardy, 61, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2024 at his residence in Arnaudville. He was born on January 23, 1963, in Arnaudville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, in Arnaudville.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville on Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate the memorial service. Readers will be Hailey Richard and Sandi Guarisco.

After graduating Cecilia High School in 1981, Kimmie attended Lafayette Technical College and graduated with an industrial technology degree in 1983, which led him to work for WJS Enterprises as an IT Connectivity Specialist for 33 years. He excelled in his position and met some of his best friends during his time working. During this time he met the love of his life April, in 1983 and the two got married in September of 1985, and had a total of 41 beautiful years together.

Kimmie was known for his friendly and kind heart demeanor. He was truly one of a kind, always putting the needs of others before his own, without expecting anything in return. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone, without hesitation. It was evident he loved animals, and if he could keep every animal he rescued he would. While he often appeared quiet, those fortunate enough to know him understood his exceptional sense of humor and love for joking around. He was known for being witty and “stirring the pot” and watching it unfold from afar. Kimmie had a remarkable ability to listen attentively and give great advice when needed.

Kimmie spent most of his time watching the History Channel, Military movies, Bass fishing videos on YouTube, old western shows, anything to do with Bigfoot and UFO’s, and cartoon’s especially with his grandson.

Kimmie had a deep appreciation for nature. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or in the basin, he was in his element. He loved his family unconditionally. He was always happy and enjoyed being around his family. He enjoyed making memories and going on outdoor walks and adventures with his grandson, Maverick. They were like two peas in a pod.

Kimmie is survived by and was the loving husband of nearly 39 years to April LaGrange Hardy, and the proud father of Ridge Hardy and Whitney James (Kade). His greatest joy in life was being a grandfather to his cherished grandson, Maverick James.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Landry Hardy.

Kimmie will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandson, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, Acadiana Ambulance for their services, as well as close family and friends who provided comfort and care during this difficult time.

Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
