Breaux Bridge - It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kylon "Ky-ote" Calais, who left this world on June 7, 2025, at the young age of 20. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge.

In memory of Kylon, we invite all those whose lives he touched to come together to share stories, laughter, and the joy he brought to our lives.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the funeral service. Reader will be Heather Smith.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery # 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Born on February 20, 2005, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Kylon was a vibrant spirit who brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Kylon was known for his love of adventure, often found riding dirt bikes and 4-wheelers, and attending trail rides. His infectious laugh, boundless energy, and radiant smile could light up any room, making him the life of every gathering. Kylon cherished his time spent with family and friends, embracing every moment and creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who loved him. Whether he was dancing or simply being surrounded by those he cared for, Kylon's life was truly inspiring.

He is survived by his mother, Nicole Robin (Lee); father, Travis Calais; brothers, Kevin Smith (Heather), Traylon Calais (Kayla), Elijah Broussard (MacKenzie), Davonta Joseph, Demarious Calais, Kae'don Calais, and Kae'von Calais; sister, Autumn Calais; niece, Kenzie Tucker; nephews, Kaden Berry, Justin, Greyson, Jaiden, and Kingston Smith; biological grandmother, Priscila Calais; aunt, Georgeana Calais; uncles, Wilson Ledet, Clayton Ledet, Clinton Ledet and Joseph Ledet; Godparents, Markus Calais and Tonya Theriot; and numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wiley and Debra Robin; paternal grandparents, Clifton Ledet; and two friends, Horus Berry and Dre Arceneaux.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Elijah Broussard, Demarious Calais, Davonta Joseph, Cameron LeBlanc, Braylon Mouton, Anson Robin, and Mahki Holliday.

Honorary pallbearers will be Traylon Calais, Dequincy Sam, Markus Calais, David Calais and Lee Babineaux.

Though he may be gone, his light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. He will be deeply missed.
