New Iberia ;- Funeral will be at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Lannis Joseph Romero, 51, who passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2008 in Lafayette. ; Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau. ; Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. ; Born on February 23, 1957, Lannis enjoyed camping, fishing, and especially listening to French music. ; Survivors include his mother, Willa Mae Domingue Romero of New Iberia; fiance, Janet Wapnarski of Coteau; sons, Jeremy Romero and wife Christina of Youngsville, Nicholas Romero and wife Heather of Youngsville; daughter, Amanda Romero of Coteau; step son, Jeremy Wapnarski and wife Desiree of Youngsville; step daughter, Lanie Wapnarski of Lafayette; brothers, Annis Romero and wife Sweetie of New Iberia, Julius Romero and wife Sarah of Youngsville; sister, Dianna Bourque and husband Alton of New Iberia; grandchildren, Ty, Hannah, Beau, and Lillie; step grandchild, Cohen Wapnarski. ;He was preceded in death by his father, Minous Joseph Romero. ; Pallbeaers will be Nick Romero, Donald Romero, Tracy Romero, Sonny Romero, Barkley Romero and Jake Romero. Honorary pallbearers include Jeremy Wapnarski, Chad Lasseigne and Dewayne Self. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 9:30 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00PM Tuesday.
