New Iberia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Lawrence Larry Armentor, 80, who died Sunday, May 11, 2014, in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Armentor was born on August 3, 1933, and was the former owner of Farmers Grain Company, and several oilfield companies. Larrys passion was race horses. He enjoyed raising and racing horses throughout the area. His hobbies included dancing, listening to Zydeco and French music, telling stories, and sitting outside in the evenings reminiscing about many things, including going to work with his mother at the hospital.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary Evans Armentor of New Iberia; son, Bruce Armentor of Lafayette; and step children, Debbie Enzman and husband Karl of Livermore, CA, Tammy Waguespack and husband Joey of New Iberia, Ricky Evans of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Comeaux; step daughter, Cindia Evans; step son, David Evans; and his former wife, Maxine.
Pallbearers will be Joey Wauespack, Buddy Johnson, Dakuiry Palmisano, James Dean Palmisano, Cody Dupuis, and Tyler Dupuis.
