Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Larry Eugene Romero, 76, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 9:00 am until the service at 12:00 pm.

A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Monday morning.

Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Taylor Freeman and Mary Freeman.

Larry was born on January 18, 1949, to John and Nina Romero. Growing up in Youngsville and then New Iberia, Larry graduated from New Iberia Senior High in 1967. He went to USL and became a teacher. He educated many students in his career, passing on his love of English and French. In 1974, married the love of his life, Sandra. Ten years later, his family became complete when their daughter, Taylor, came into their lives. In his later life, he was a proud employee of Walmart in Breaux Bridge, making many friends among co-workers and customers.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Sandra Champagne Romero; daughter, Taylor Freeman (Chris) of New Iberia; granddaughter and chere bebe, Mary Ruth; step-granddaughter, Lauryn Sigue (Justin); and bonus great-grandson, Jace. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Landry (Willis) of New Iberia; and brother, John Lee Romero of New Iberia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John White and Nina Romero; in-laws, Earl and Mary Nell Champagne; and infant brother, Narry Romero.

The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to the staff of the 7th floor ICU at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital, Ochsner Lafayette General Hospice, Dr. Phillipe Prouet, Dr. Jason Breaux and Dr. Perri Prellop.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Hospice of Acadiana.
