St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 13, 2008, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Lawrence Joseph ""Papa Lole"" Robertson, 93, who passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rev. Fr. Tarsisius Puling will officiate at the funeral Mass. ?His grandchildren will serve as gift bearers. Mr. Robertson was a carpenter by trade who loved woodworking and enjoyed listening to Country Music. ?He was a father-figure to everyone he met during his life and was better known as ""Papa Lole."" His children meant the world to him - he loved them all unconditionally and treasured every moment he spent with his family. ""Papa Lole"" will be sadly missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving him. Survivors include eleven sons, Lawrence Robertson, Jr. (Phyllis), Patrick Robertson, all of St. Martinville, John Paul Robertson, Jimmy ""James"" Robertson (Shirley), all of Richmond, CA, Daniel Robertson (Christine), of Fairfield, CA, Edward Robertson, Roland Robertson, Jackie Robertson (Hattie), all of St. Martinville, Collins Robertson (Lois), of New Iberia, Rickie Robertson, of Cypress Island, and Perry Robertson (Christine), of St. Martinville; three daughters, Sharlene Horton (James), of St. Martinville, Theresa Nelson (Willie), of Orlando, FL, and Jacqueline Thomas (Jesse), of Lafayette; one brother, Webster Robertson, of St. Martinville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Prade Robertson; four infant children, Patricia, Anthony, Johnny, and Mary Robertson; his parents, Calice and Clarissa Fontenette Robertson; five brothers, Clarence, Louis, Albert, Janis, and Anderson Robertson; and three sisters, Louise, Gladys and Margie Robertson. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Church from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Honored to serve as his pallbearers are his sons. Pellerin Funeral Home, 337.332.2111, is in charge of arrangements.
