Leland Blanchard

Breaux Bridge Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Leland Joseph Blanchard, 75, who passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 am on Wednesday and continue until 2 pm on Thursday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Wednesday. Fr. Paul LaFleur will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Karen Hebert and Susan Addison. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Blanchard was retired from the oilfield industry. He enjoyed being outdoors, riding his tractor, and relaxing on his swing while watching the cows graze in the pasture. Leland loved spending time with his family and especially loved playing with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Aimee Frederick Blanchard; two sons, Luke Blanchard and wife, Adeline, and Dean Blanchard and wife, Pam; five brothers, Lee Roy "T-Neg" Blanchard, Howard "Black" Blanchard, Whitney Blanchard and wife, Faye, Carrol Blanchard, and Harris Guidry; his grandchildren, Mandy and Lambert Landry, Ashley and Justin Hebert, and Macie and Cody LeBlanc; and his great grandchildren, Blake, Drake, Dylan and Lake Landry, Gracie, Gunnar and Gabi Hebert, and Cayden and Ava LeBlanc. He is preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Edna Guidry Blanchard; and his brother and sister-in-law, Abel "Jim" and Judy Blanchard. Pallbearers will be Lambert Landry, Blake Landry, Justin Hebert, Jordan Addison, Cody LeBlanc, and Gary Blanchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Hebert and Roy Blanchard.
