Leroy Fremin

St.Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m., on Monday, April 18, 2011, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Leroy Fremin, Sr., 91, who passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery . Scriptures will be read by Tance Fremin and the Gift Bearers will be Trevor Poirier and Carly Fremin. Mr. Fremin was a carpenter by trade, who upon his retirement still enjoyed various crafts of woodworking, tending to his garden and most especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his son, Leroy 'Jay' Fremin, Jr. and his wife, Sue, of St. Martinville; one sister, Margie Babin of St. Martinville; two grandchildren, Tance Fremin and his wife, Sonja, and Carly Fremin and her companion, Jacob Poirier; and six great grandchildren, Amber Dalhauser, Trevor Poirier, Gavin Fremin, Luke Fremin, Emma Fremin, and Hannah Poirier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Dor Fremin; his parents, Joseph 'Nini' and Luietia Toucheque Fremin; and four sisters, Marie Derise, Flora Mae Fremin, Rose Mae Landry, and Victoria Marie Dugas. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue on Monday at 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Tance Fremin, Jacob Poirier, Ronald Theriot, Harold Landry, Lewis Babin, and Robert Suire. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Romero, Jules Dor, and Nolan Dor.
