Lillie "Mae Mae" Martin

April 14, 1927 — October 24, 2021

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Lillie "MaeMae" Mae Martin , 94, who passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until the time of Mass on Friday.

A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Friday.

Rev. Abelardo Gabriel SVD will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.

MaeMae was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She loved dancing, watching tv, cooking and baking. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. MaeMae was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Lester Martin; daughters, Dorothy Davis (Santry) and Shirley Lee (Willie); brother, Zervin Mallery (Helen); sisters, Augustine Morris, Antoinette Francis, Mary Ann Wiltz (Joseph) and Rita Mae Batiste; grandchildren, Destiny Martin, Dustin Martin, Bethany Martin, Timothy Martin (Margie), Keyara Martin (Cody), Kayla Mason (Keith), Kevin Martin (Katorya), Kenneth Martin, Melonie Stevens (Lee, Jr.), Brandon Martin, Janice Simon (James), Fanny Faulk (Travis), George Jones (Daisy), Latrisha Martin, Loretta Martin and Keith Francis; 43 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Martin, Sr.; sons, Lawrence Martin, Jr. and George Joseph Martin; daughters, Lillie Marie Martin and Margarette Martin; parents, George Joseph Mallery, Sr. and Ophelia Dauphine Mallery; brothers, George Joseph Mallery, Jr. and Warren Mallery; sisters, Rosa Mae Francis, Mary Lou Wiltz, Flora Belle Pierre, Melvina Wiltz and Florina James; and great-grandchildren, Trey D. Carmouche and Brianna Onezine.

Pallbearers will be Kavion Martin, Dustin Martin, Ta'kaevin Landry, George Celestine, Jr., Kentavion Martin and Tyrese Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Martin, Kenneth Martin, Keith Francis, Brandon Martin, George Jones and Timothy Martin.
