Linda Lopez Johnson

New Iberia - Linda Lopez Johnson, a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away on May 27th, 2023 at the age of 76 in New Iberia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.

Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be Monday, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home and will continue Tuesday, from 8:00 am until 9:15 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.

Linda was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on April 6th, 1947. She had an inner strength that could not be described and was raised by her mother to be a strong woman. These values were passed down as Linda raised her five daughters to be just as strong.

In her spare time, Linda enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing Pokeno, dancing, camping, going to the casino and going motorcycle riding. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Johnson; daughters, Tammy B. Comeaux, Pamela E. Bayard, Monica B. Viator (Bobby), Angela B. Lecamus (Marty), and Christy M. Bayard; brother, Ricky Lopez, Sr. (Annette); grandchildren, Jonathan “TJ” Comeaux, Jr., Eric J. Poirrier, Sr. (Nikki), Lasi C. Cormier (Ben), Nicole L. Bayard (Krystin), Alex W. Poirrier (Kelli), Sophie M. Bayard (Kyle Viator), Joshua P. Bayard (Theresa), Taylor R. Viator, Mckayla C. Menard, and Caleb J. Menard; 17 great grandchildren; step children, Shane Johnson (Quinlynn), Cherie Johnson, and Jamie Johnson; and several step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade P. and Doris Gautreaux Lopez; a brother, Perry W. Lopez; and a son-in-law, Toddy Allemand.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan “TJ” Comeaux, Jr., Eric J. Poirrier, Sr., Alex W. Poirrier, Joshua P. Bayard, Taylor R. Viator, and Nicole L. Bayard.

Honorary pallbearers include Caleb J. Menard, Zachary Rodrigue, and Landon Comeaux.

Linda will be remembered for her boundless love for her family and friends. She will forever remain alive in our memories and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
