Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Lisa Kim Melancon, 57, who passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. David Broussard will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers for the service will be Michael Hebert and Delores Darby. Mrs. Melancon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Throughout the community, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and had the kindest heart and an infectious smile. Her most cherishable moments were spending time surrounded by the people she loved, especially her husband and children. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving spouse of 37 years John Melancon; son, Jonathon Melancon and wife Kyndra of Lafayette; step-daughter, Chantelle Dever and spouse Bart of Breaux Bridge; father, Steve Broussard and wife Mary Ann of Welsh; mother, Charlene Broussard of Lafayette; sister, Stephanie Landry and husband David of Breaux Bridge; three grandsons, Tucker Melancon, Branson Theriot, and Dillian Theriot. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, T.J. and Marilla McManus and Septime and Lillian Broussard. Pallbearers will be Randy Melancon, Michael Hebert, David Landry, John Dominque, Branson Theriot, and Dillian Theriot.
