Lloyd George Olivier

Arnaudville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Lloyd George Olivier, 91, who passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12 noon until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Scriptures will be read by Shawne Taylor and Blair Guidry. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mr. Olivier was retired from the Department of Agriculture where he worked for 42 years and served as a supervisor for 15 years. Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping, and he enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He loved growing his vegetable garden every year. He loved to visit with all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville. He is survived by his wife, Grace W. Olivier; three sons, Alex (Betty) Olivier, Lynn (Mott) Olivier, and Gary (Tenley) Olivier; two daughters, Ann (Wilson) Taylor and Nell (Timmy) Guidry; 20 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clebert and Lillian Knott Olivier; his son, Edwin "Ed" Olivier; and a great grandson, Dylan Taylor. Pallbearers will be Alex Olivier, Lynn Olivier, Gary Olivier, Ann Taylor, Nell Guidry, and Scottie Olivier.
