Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, September 2, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Lois Marie Guidry Hebert, 73, who passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at St. Martin Hospital.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 am until 9 p.m. on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 8 am until 9:45 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm on Sunday by Nell Rabeaux.
Fr. Donald Pelous will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Jenni Davis and Nicole Melancon. Gift Bearers will be Meghan, Sarah, and Katie Hebert. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Cecilia.
Lois retired from the Insurance industry as a Claims Adjuster, where she worked for 45 years. She had a love for Hummingbirds and the beauty of her garden. Her hobbies included: reading, cooking, dancing, and she especially loved making Christmas ornaments using satin balls and beads.
Lois and Gene loved to travel and visited every state, with the exception of two, and some were traveled by motorcycle. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends.
Lois is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Eugene Hebert of Nina; two daughters, Robin H. Landry and her husband, Glenn, of Breaux Bridge, and Joy H. Davis and her husband, Jeff, of Cypress, TX; two sons, Scotty Hebert and his wife, Inez, of Cecilia, and Brook Hebert and his wife, Samantha, of Nina; three brothers, Kirk Guidry and Danny Guidry, both of Henderson, and Perry Guidry and his wife, Ellen, of Nina; her sister, Vicky Hebert and her husband, Kennon, of St. Martinville; seven grandchildren, Meghan Hebert, Nicole H. Melancon and her husband, Ike, Sarah Hebert, Katie Hebert, Travis Delahoussaye and his wife, Wendy, Jennifer Davis, and Ben Davis; and five great grandchildren, Brylan, Berlynn, Dagan, Ashtyn, and Brynlee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis Rosemond Guidry and Lydia Dupuis Guidry; a grandson, Linkin Jerod Hebert; her nephew and godchild, Jerod Angelle; and her sister-in-law, Pam Guidry, wife of Danny.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Hebert, Brook Hebert, Glenn Landry, Jeff Davis, Travis Delahoussaye, and Ben Davis.
The family wishes to extend special thanks and appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of St. Martin Hospital, and to her caretakers, for their constant devoted care given to her in her final weeks.
