Lorena Louviere LeGrand

Henderson - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Lorena Louviere LeGrand, 82, who passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 1:30 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in Henderson. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Fr. Keith Landry will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Ryan LeGrand. Gift Bearers will be Lonnie Mason, Tina Clark, and Michael Rodriguez. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Henderson. Mrs. Legrand was a loving and wonderful daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed ironing and sewing, doing embroidery work, working crossword puzzles, and playing Bingo and Pokeno. Lorena loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and was known to be the best praline maker around area. She is survived by four sons, Sonny L. Rogers, Cecil P. LeGrand and wife, Judy, Jimmy J. LeGrand and wife, Liz, Charlie LeGrand and companion, Sharon; two daughters, Peggy Choplin and husband, James, and Sally Blanchard and husband, Gary, all of Henderson; three sisters, Laura Rodriguez and husband, Albert, Mary Lou Broussard and husband, B.A., and Judy Berard; her granddaughter, Dawn Rogers; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul LeGrand; her father, Lawrence Louviere, Sr.; her mother, Helen May Hebert Broussard; her step father, George Broussard; her brothers, Lawrence Louviere, Jr., Herbert Louviere, Carol Louviere, and Albert Bob Louviere; her sister-in-law, Doris Louviere; and her brother-in-law, R.L. Berard. Pallbearers will be Misty Choplin, Garret Blanchard, Toby LeGrand, Dawn Rogers, Ryan LeGrand, and Dwayne LeGrand. Honorary pallbearers will be Glynn Mason, Thomas Dupuis, Ian LeGrand, and Dwight LeGrand.
