Lorna Thomassee

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Lorna Domengeaux Thomassee, 86, who passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Opelousas General Hospital. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Fr. Louis Allen Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures will be Cheryl T. Guidry and Tricia Hotard. Gift Bearers will be Rachel Matta, Dana Duplechin and Stacey Guidry.Mrs. Thomassee had many hobbies that she loved, such as sewing, embroidering, playing cards, reading, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger; she was known as "Pats French Ambassador."Survivors include her sons, Frank Thomassee, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Orange, TX, and Bryant A. (Nunie) Thomassee and his wife, Corinne, of Cecilia; her daughters, Linda T. Guidry of Cecilia, Cheryl T. Guidry and her husband, Curnal, of Cecilia, Druscilla T. Chauffe and her husband, Tom, of Chelsea, AL, Lucette T. Vincent and her husband, Oran, of Carencro, Frances Elaine Thomassee of Cecilia and Jacqueline T. Dauphine and her husband, Donald, of Breaux Bridge; 24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Thomassee, Sr.; her parents, Noe and Arize Cemere Domengeaux; her son, Bill Thomassee and his wife, Gloria; her son-in-law, Harold J. Guidry; her granddaughter, Leslie T. Lancon; four brothers and two sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Butch Hebert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Lance Guidry, Julian Knott, Rusty Knott, Brody Thomassee, Cpl. Trey M. Thomassee, and Stoney LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Dauphine, Nickie Dauphine and Terry Dauphine. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
