Born on January 3, 1961, in Loreauville, he was an incredible man who lived a life marked by dedication to service, community, and family. A proud graduate of Loreauville High School's Class of 1980, he was affectionately known as "Coca" to his friends. In his early years, he dedicated his work as a sugarcane farmer and in construction alongside his father at their family business, Landry Brothers. After years of farming and working construction, he devoted nearly three decades of his life to law enforcement. He proudly served with both the Iberia Parish and St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Offices. His commitment to protecting and serving his community earned him the respect and admiration of many. Throughout his career, he was known affectionately as "Lou" or "Big Lou," a testament to his larger-than-life presence and heart.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Lou was deeply involved in the community. He served as the Cub Scout Master for Pack 175 at Trinity Catholic School, inspiring young boys to develop their character and leadership skills for seven years. A passionate supporter of youth sports, he contributed his time as an assistant coach for both soccer and baseball, nurturing the talents of countless children. Lou also volunteered with the Evangeline Volunteer Fire Department, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of those around him. Lou was a committed parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, where his strong faith guided his actions throughout his life. He was also the proud recipient of the Masonic Award in 1980, further reflecting his devotion to community and fellowship. Lou's loving spirit extended beyond his community service. His family meant everything to him and he cherished the time spent with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
