Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church - Cecilia honoring the life of Louis Roy, Jr.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

A Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM on Thursday.

Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Kamryn Granier and Adalyn Guidry. Gift bearers will be Aubrey Guidry and Idahlia Bellard.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louis Roy, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on February 22, 2026, at the age of 81.

To us, he was more than the roles he carried - he was our steady foundation. His life was marked by deep devotion to his family, faithful service to his country, and a genuine appreciation for the simple joys that made life meaningful.

Louis proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1969, where he refined his skills as a mechanic and demonstrated the strong work ethic that defined him throughout his life. His commitment to serving others never faded. He gave his time, his wisdom, and his love generously, and he did so without ever asking for anything in return.

He found joy in fishing, gardening, and working with his hands. His carpentry skills were remarkable, but even more remarkable was the way he built a family rooted in love and togetherness. He was especially known for his cooking - his rice and gravies, gumbo's, cowboy stew, and barbecue brought us all together, filling our homes with laughter, stories, and memories we will treasure forever.

Louis is survived by his devoted daughters, Kimberly Roy (Amber Granier), Kristy Guidry (Nicholas) and as well as his cherished grandchildren, Kamryn Granier, Adalyn Guidry, and Aubrey Guidry. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Elizabeth Roy (Roland Daigle) who will forever hold his memory close.

In addition to his parents, Louis Roy, Sr. and Bernice Tauzin Roy; Louis was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Terry Kate Roy (Bergeron); his brothers, Weston, Charles, Donald, and James Roy; and his sisters, Deborah, Geraldine Roy, and Linda Roy Boudreaux.

His gentle heart, steady presence, and unwavering love have left a lasting imprint on our lives. Though we will miss him deeply, we carry his spirit with us in every family gathering, every shared meal, and every story told in his honor.

We are grateful for the time we had with him and the legacy of love he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and forever cherished.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Guidry, Ben Bellard, Mike Hebert, Jason Berard, Joe Speyrer, and Ronnie Calais.
