New Iberia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Louise Viator Pellerin, 88, who died Monday, April 7, 2014, in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Cemetery in Coteau.
Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
Mrs. Pellerin was born on March 19, 1926, and was the daughter of Joseph Viator, Sr., and Louise Gary Viator. She loved visiting with her family and friends, and treated everyone like family. She never met a stranger.
Survivors include her sons, Gilbert Pellerin and wife Deborah of Scott, Jules Pellerin, Jr. of Catahoula, Russell J. Pellerin of New Iberia, Perry Joseph Pellerin and wife Cheryl Boutte Pellerin of New Iberia; daughter, Jeanell Pellerin Boudreaux and husband Darrel of Lydia; brother, Clomie Viator and wife Marie Anite Viator of Delcambre; sister, Ursula Porrier of New Iberia; 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jules Pellerin, Sr.; sons, Edward Joseph Pellerin, Rockney Joseph Pellerin; brothers, Ophe Viator, Joseph E. Viator, Lucius Alphe Viator, Joseph Viator, Jr.; sister, Gladys Viator Gary; grandchildren, Edward Allen Pellerin, Angie Pellerin Davis; and a great grandchild, Kase Boudreaux.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Pellerin, Dr. Gilbert Pellerin, Jr., Justin Decuir, Mitchell J. Pellerin, Jason Melancon, and Gilbert Pellerin, Sr.
