Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, May 9, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Loula Mae H. Theriot, 95, who passed away on May 5, 2025, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Friday from 8:30 am to 1:15 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 pm on Friday.
Father Reed Bellingham officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Gwyn Theriot. Gift bearers will be Alayna Dore and Cathy Dore. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Loula was born on October 23, 1929, in Breaux Bridge. Loula Mae dedicated herself to the Ladies Alter Society, where she contributed her time and talents with grace and devotion. She found peace and joy in her garden, nurturing blooms that matched the warmth of her heart. Loula Mae was never shy about sharing her culinary gifts. Her cooking was legendary, filling the homes of those around her with the inviting aromas of love. Dancing brought her joy, and she could often be found lost in the rhythm of the music, letting her spirit soar.
A proud member of her rosary group, Loula Mae drew strength from her faith, finding comfort and purpose in prayer and fellowship. Her afternoons were often filled with cheerful visits with her neighbors, where her laughter could be heard like a soothing melody. Loula Mae cherished every moment spent with family and friends, creating countless memories that will be lovingly recounted for generations to come.
She is survived by her stepson, Gary Theriot (Gwyn); stepdaughters, Debbie Dupuis (Ricky), Cathy Dore (Darren), Bessie Theriot (Darrell), Bonnie Theriot; step grandchildren, Tyler Dupuis, Nicholas Dupuis, Layne Theriot (Ashley), Ashleigh Angelle (Alex) and Alayna Dore; step great-grandchildren, Vera Theriot, Hayven Theriot, Audrey Angelle, Andrew Angelle and Aiden Angelle; and great-nephew, Scotty Blanchard.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harris Theriot; parents, George Huval and Edna Huval; brother, Clifford Huval; sister, Daisy Blanchard; brother-in-law, Darrel Blanchard; great-nephew, Brandon Blanchard.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Dupuis, Darren Dore, Gary Theriot, Tyler Dupuis, Nicholas Dupuis and Layne Theriot.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Lanclos.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff on D-Hall at J. Michael Memorial Nursing Home for the care she was given.
