St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held honoring the life of Lucette Marie Babin Hulin, 104, at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville who passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 . She will be laid to rest in St. Michaels Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gaylon Champagne, Murphy Champagne, Clayt Hulin, Shawn Hulin, Kenneth Hebert, David Theriot, Al Fuselier, Bobby Cade and Chase Champagne. Born on June 26, 1906 , Lucette Marie Babin Hulin taught by example. She was a devout Catholic and prayed diligently on daily basis. She relied on Gods intercession and was a member of the Miraculous Medal Association for over 60 years. Survivors include her daughter, Doris Hulin Broussard; her daughter-in-law, Sue Benoit Hulin, both of St. Martinville; her son, Gerald Hulin and his wife, Nancy Hulin of New Iberia . She is survived by nine grandchildren, Paula Hebert and her husband, Kenneth, Tia Hulin and her friend, Nicole Thibodeaux, all of Lafayette, Murphy Champagne and his wife, Jill Champagne of New Iberia, Clayt Hulin and his wife, Suzette Hulin, Cynthia Theriot and her husband, David, Gaylon Champagne and his wife, Pam Champagne, Shawn Hulin and his wife, Terri Hulin, Toni Cade and her husband, Bobby, Tammy Fuselier and her husband, Al, all of St. Martinville. She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adonis and Eulalie Delahoussaye Babin; her husband, Walter Hulin; her son, Dennis Hulin; four sisters, Irene Babin Hulin, Lally Babin, Lucille Babin Landry, all of St. Martinville and Jeanne Babin Laviolette of Lafayette ; two brothers Anisette 'Baboo' Babin and Laris 'Bolo' Babin of Broussard; and her granddaughter, Donna Lynn Hulin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The family would like to extend a 'Special Thanks' to her caregivers, Gail Saintes, Sadie Evans and Sue Page; Angelic Touch and Concept of Care; and her lay minister Arlene Boyer.
