Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Lucien Joseph Demouchet, Jr., 65, who passed away on August 5, 2025, at Ochsner St. Martin Hospital.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 7:00 AM until time of service.
Pastor Darren Benoit will officiate at the funeral service.
Lucien Demouchet Jr. was 65 years old when he ascended into heaven-a man loved deeply by many and remembered as the life of every gathering. He worked for the City of Breaux Bridge before his passing, but his true work was the joy he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him. Lucien was an extraordinary person-someone who carried a vibrant spirit and an open heart. His passion for dancing and his love for family and friends were unmatched. He had the rare gift of making everyone around him feel lighter, brighter, and more alive. His kindness and warmth left an imprint that will never fade.
When someone as full of life as Lucien leaves this world, it feels dimmer, as though some of its color and light have gone with him. He had a way of making the broken look beautiful and the strong look effortless. He carried the weight of the world with such grace that it looked like a pair of wings. And in that way, he still walks with us-slipping into our thoughts in the quiet moments, bringing back memories when we least expect them.
Lucien's quirks and sayings are treasures we'll hold forever-like his signature phrase, "at the same time too." He was an original member of the "Chocolate City Baseball Team," known affectionately as B-Bop, Clin, and Lu. He was a porch pirate, Channel 3, and a regular at coffee breaks in the park or the donut shop-always with an outrageous story or animated conversation that made the moment more lively. He had nicknames for everyone and, with his big personality, could even send folks out of his house-yet he was so loved they'd always come back the very next day. That was the magic of Lucien: no matter what, people were drawn to his light.
Lu will be missed in countless ways-in his laughter, his dancing, his words, and his presence. But his spirit, his love, and the joy he brought into this world will live on forever in the hearts of those blessed to have known him.
Lucien leaves to cherish his many loving memories: his daughter, Tashana/Roland Patt Jr.; step-daughter, Keisha Noel; sisters: Gladys Demouchet, Mary/Walter Batiste, Shirley/Ricky Daniel, Barbara/Shelton Celestine, and Stephen/Prenella Demouchet; his aunt, Geneva Harris; and his companion, Damion Jones. He also leaves behind his godchildren: Tiki Joseph and Santrell Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly, especially his Porch Pirates... too many to name.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Lucien Demouchet; his mother, Esther Sam; his sisters: Wilda Mae Butler and Gloria Alexander; his nieces: Priscilla Butler, Theresa Butler, Eula Mae Demouchet; his nephews: Damian Batiste, Lester Butler, Sylvester Butler; and his maternal and paternal grandparents: Frank/Adelma Demouchet and Maternal Hector/Corrina Sam.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Karrell Charles, Damion Jones, Lauris Celestine, Stephen Demouchet, Jimmy Sam and Melvin Sam.
